Creating and modifying requirement attributes
Attributes are used to describe different states for requirements. One state can be Tentative, Validated, Implemented, or Relinquished; while another state can be passed or failed for a test.
There are two types of attributes:
- Attributes defined by the Application, known as default attributes;
- Attributes defined by the User.
The attributes defined by the Application cannot be deleted or edited by a User.
Attributes defined by the User can be added, deleted and edited in Setup… > Attributes. Attribute values are assigned to requirements in Navigate > Attributes. Application and User attributes are applicable for requirements only, and they become an integrated part of the Configuration.
A User is able to create whatever attributes and values that are necessary. All attribute and value names are strings. For example:
- Risk
- Low risk
- Medium risk
- High risk
- Cost
- < 8 h
- [8, 20) h
- [20, 40] h
- > 40 h
- Test
- Passed
- Failed
- Priority
- Non critical
- Critical
- Very critical
Initial values
The User may set a default value for an attribute. Attributes have their default values until changed.
