Working with Configurations
To be sure that identical configuration settings are applied during work in a project, rules, min/max metric limits and attribute values can be saved into a configuration file. Configuration data can be saved in two ways: the data can be saved to a local configuration file, or the data can be stored as a configuration file in the Data Repository.
Configuration data consists of:
- Rules and state on Specification level
- Rules and state on Requirement level
- Specific metric limits, min and max
- Attributes and Values
The following application settings are not part of the Configuration data:
- The Logo in Navigate > Information
- The metric colors and style preferences
- Font preferences
- License settings
Open configuration data
A configuration data file can be opened in the main menu:
- Configuration > Open File
Configuration data in the Data Repository can be loaded by the menu:
- Configuration > Load from Database
Loading configuration data will change user settings to reflect the new configuration. Before loading a new configuration, the user can save the current configuration to a local file.
Save configuration data
Configuration data can be saved either in a local file, or in the Data Repository:
- Select the menu Configuration > Save to file…
- Select the menu Configuration > Store to Database…
- Give the configuration an identity and description and click the Store button.
Delete configuration data
The User can delete configuration data from the Data Repository:
- Select the menu Configuration > Load from Database…
- Select the configuration identity and click the Delete button.
Deleting configurations will remove them permanently from the Data Repository. The operation cannot be undone. The configuration identity is removed from the Load Configuration Window. Click the Cancel button to close the window.
