Rules on the requirement level

Rules on the requirement level applies to the following XML elements:

  • Requirement text;
  • Lists and captions in requirement texts.

Depending on which rules are activated, the analysis engine checks different parts of the document. When contents don't comply with an activated rule, one or more Issues are generated. An Issue can be minor or serious. Most Issues that are serious should be corrected before the Specification is released. Issues that are minor can be difficult to correct for all generated Issues. The decision which serious or minor Issues to correct lies with the authors and the persons responsible for Quality Assurance. An Issue on the requirement level is generally more serious than an Issue on the Specification level.
